I think it is pretty safe to say that today’s launch of the Kawana Waters Farmers’ Market was an absolute success!
For those of you who didn’t go, make sure you drop in to this market soon. While combined with an artisans market of some lovely arts and crafts, the food section was more than expected for this maiden market voyage.
All I could thinks was “damn, why wasn’t I more cashed up??” and “damn, why didn’t I come earlier?” – forcing me to have to bypass many of my favourites which I normally only found at the Noosa Farmers’ Market, or face empty stalls because they had sold out – so much for sleeping in!
Anyway, awesome selection. Some of my major favourites were: Eumundi Smokehouse – awesome range of smoked goods, French Sin – my favourite of favourites, the duck rillettes, alongside a mouth-watering selection of croissants and French pastries, Arama Mushrooms – beautifully fresh, perfect mushrooms, d’Vine – delicious preserves, amongst many others.
There were also some newies (well to me): iLife Foods – really interesting range of wild harvest based products, the macadamia paste looking especially enticing, LiraH – vinegars and verjus from the Granite Belt, The Venison King – venison meat cuts, so rare to find good suppliers of, Secret Pantry – range of preserves, alongside some fruit and vegetable producers.
I am so excited about this market – for me it is now a 10 minute drive instead of a 40 minute one to Noosa, and it is only going to keep getting better and better.
Operating every Saturday from 7am to noon, it is on Sportsman’s Parade at Lake Kawana. So if you enter from the Nicklin Way at Lifeline you will pretty much drive straight into it.
Looking forward to next week and will definitely be more cashed up and earlier! See you all there.
