Local Harvest – The Sunshine Coast & Surrounds Regional Food Directory is a comprehensive food and beverage directory for Sunshine Coast and Surrounds based food and beverage producers. It was created in 2005 by Petra Frieser as an initiative to raise awareness for the Sunshine Coast food industries and to make it easier for foodies, retailers and chefs to source Sunshine Coast food and produce.  Petra Frieser continues to maintain and develop Local Harvest in a hope to make it the best regional food and produce guide on the Sunshine Coast.

There are many benefits to becoming a member of Local Harvest – The Sunshine Coast & Surrounds Regional Food Directory and it is an effective way of marketing your brand/product and letting consumers know that you are out there and where to find you. If you are a Sunshine Coast and Surrounds food grower, producer or processor and you are not listed on the Local Harvest and should be, send us an email and we will soon fix that!

Petra Hughes is the administrator and designer of Local Harvest – The Sunshine Coast and Surrounds Regional Food Directory.  She is also a Creative Director (award winning), Designer, Photographer, Product Developer, Author, Publisher, Reviewer, Web Designer, Small Business Consultant, ‘major ideas person’ and self proclaimed dreamer and entrepreneur.

Petra has spent the last 15 years scouring markets and developing initiatives in how to generate more interest in the Sunshine Coast Regional Food movement and years before that collating information and contacts in a hope to develop something tangible that will make a difference to the Sunshine Coast’s food industry, also having on a number of food related research documents for Sunshine Coast Regional Council.

Petra’s primary focus is for everyone to love and support regional food as much as she does. ‘Food is life’ so surely ‘good food’ equates to ‘good life’!
