Mooloolaba is the main port of call for trawlers and other fishing vessels bounty laden with prawns, oysters, scallops and an abundant variety of fish and seafood ready for export or to be sold directly to the public at a number of fresh seafood venues on the Sunshine Coast & Surrounds. Aquaculture industries also thrive with red claw crayfish and prawns are all being farmed on the Sunshine Coast and Surrounds alongside some of the more experimental species. Many producers are value adding by smoking and curing seafood with some fabulous results.
