Maleny Buffalo is Queensland’s only commercial buffalo dairy based in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Our 100+ acre property has been in our family for five generations and produces both buffalo milk and meat.

Maleny Buffalo provides a range of cuts suitable for smoking braising, roasting or grilling. The fillet is sort after from high-end restaurants with it being much leaner. Processed cuts of meat are also available and include: mince, burger patties, sausages, salami and cured meats. Buffalo Momos are now also available for purchase.

The premium buffalo milk is rich and velvety in taste and has a much higher fat and energy content compared to cows milk, which is well-loved by cheesemakers and gelato artisans around Australia.

Animal welfare is of the utmost importance to Maleny Buffalo, with the business embedding zero waste agricultural practices, by ensuring every part of the animal is utilised from nose-to-tail. Buffalo meat is leaner than most meat products on the market, with a fat composition in having a higher proportion of polyunsaturated and omega 3 fatty acids than chicken, lamb or beef.
